*Animals shall be presented to show events where they will enter the food chain free of drugs. The act of entering an animal in a livestock show is the giving of consent by the owner, exhibitor, fitter, trainer and /or absolute responsible person for show management to ask a licensed Veterinarian to obtain specimens of urine, saliva, blood or other substances from the animal to be used in testing. Livestock shall not be exhibited if drug, (allowable by Federal or State statutes) affects the animal’s performance or appearance at the event. *The act of entering an animal is the giving of verification by the owner, exhibitor, or absolute responsible person that he or she has read the WJLS code of ethics and understand the consequences of and penalities provided in the code.

ARTIFICIAL PRACTICES

The Board of Directors has the right to disqualify any animal whose appearance has been materially changed or altered by any process, including dying of the hair, which may make breed determination and classification difficult or uncertain. Any animal on which any surgical operation has been performed, with the exception of dehorning, to improve the animal’s appearance, may also be disqualified.
